Xmas Projection Mapping

Bringing Holiday Magic to Life Through Projection Mapping
Location: Zagreb, Croatia
Solution: Architectural Projection Mapping

About the Campaign
Holofiction partnered with MPG agency for Kaufland to create a special Advent activation in Zagreb. The project transformed the façade of the Hrvatsko narodno kazalište in Zagreb into a large-scale visual experience inspired by the atmosphere of December in the city and the timeless story of Orašar (The Nutcracker), traditionally performed at the theatre during the holiday season.

The idea was to connect what happens inside the theatre with the public space outside - bringing the emotion, elegance, and familiarity of the ballet into the open, where visitors could experience it as part of their Advent walk through the city.

Holofiction developed the full creative concept, from storyboard and visual narrative to animation and video production, carefully adapting the content to the theatre’s architecture so the projection felt integrated to the story.

The Solution
The installation was executed using 4 high-output projectors of 20,000 ANSI lumens each, allowing the entire building to be illuminated with strong clarity and detail, even in outdoor winter conditions.

The animation was precisely mapped to the architectural structure, using columns, windows, and decorative elements as part of the storytelling. Instead of treating the building as a flat screen, the visuals interacted with its form - creating movement, depth, and stage-like transitions.

Let’s Create Something Extraordinary
Holofiction designs immersive visual experiences that merge space, story, and technology - helping brands and institutions engage audiences in ways that feel both innovative and authentic.
